Investigating Practices
What are they?
The Investigating Practices focus on students asking questions and conducting investigations about the natural world, which result in the production of data.
Each of the modules below focuses on one of the Investigating Practices. These modules include agendas as well as other resources (e.g. handouts, videos) needed to conduct the professional development experience. Each module is designed to take approximately 45 minutes.

DescriptionScientific questions lead to explanations of how the natural world works, and can be empirically tested using evidence.
An investigation is a systematic way to gather data about the natural world either in the field or in a laboratory setting. Mathematical and computational thinking involves using tools and mathematical concepts to address a scientific question. |
